has less miles than my mom's car from 2008. It might also be in better condition.

This is what my dad doesn't understand about used cars. An '05 car with 5k miles is NOT older than a '13 with 40k miles.

Surely owned by an older person.

The tires they put on it could have told me that!
I still want it. Put some different rims on it, some exhaust, maybe a few performance upgrades... unf.

Of all the cars that need the extra room a space saver gives, this is one car that doesn't need the room.

Nice, I'd rock the shit out of that car. Looks clean and would give a sweer sleeper, though I probably wouldn't want to cut it up

Mmm body roll.
Bench seats.
305 V8.
Column shifter.
This is the quintessential land yacht.

would be awesome for a cross country road trip, it doesn't have bench seats, it has couches.

I would say it varies. I would like a car that is regularly driven. Just because it sits doesn't mean it stays perfect.

Basically it's a Caddy with just the stuff that works.
Gasoline consumption would normally be a factor, but I think that space-saver spare probably boosts it 5 mpg. Would buy if on company gas card.

Yes, but even with the low mileage, the built quality is still...questionable. American cars in the 70's and 80's weren't screwed together amazingly well. That being said, this may be the cleanest stock Caprice Classic I've ever seen.

Lol trying to tell me about 80s build quality.
It looks solid internally though.

Its an 80s design built in a factory tooled in the 80s. I'd call it 80s quality.

Yeah, the lowest-mileage car we own (including my wife's '11 VW Golf) is a 1985 VW Scirocco. Apparently, a previous owner parked it in their back lot in the early '90s with 30,000 miles on it, and forgot about it, so it looks like it was pulled out of a hedge, with hail damage, ruined paint and damaged trim, but it drives like a new car!
It's an odd departure for me. I normally gravitate towards cars with interstellar mileages...

None of the cars at my house are over 150,000 miles...

Heh, we're the opposite. Aside from the Golf and Scirocco, every single car I've owned has been over that. My family have always bought old cars and then nursed them along for years, so high mileages feel normal to me. Driving the Scirocco and realising what a car can be like without a horribly worn engine and suspension was quite a revelation!

70s design, 70s factories, 80s build. Even the refresh for 80/81 would have roots in the 70s.
They were screwed together pretty well all along.
